Wednesday, May 31, 2006 ASCII Maps You have to be a geek to enjoy this, and to be quite honest, I am not sure how useful this is, but it is kinda cool. If you ever wanted a google map displayed using plain ASCII, go here: http://www.asciimaps.com/

Saturday, May 27, 2006 Introduction to Windows Mobile 5.0 - Free Workshops I have not had a chance to blog much lately, simply because I have been so busy traveling from one event to the next. And in fact, the next series of events is already coming up: My Windows Mobile 5.0 Introduction workshops in Houston, Austin, and Dallas. These events are completely free of charge for attendees.
To make this quick and painless, here is the blurb Microsoft published about this:
Developing Windows Mobile 5 Solutions with Markus Egger (CoDe Magazine / EPS Software Corp)
Windows Mobile 5.0 is the latest version of the Windows Operating System for mobile devices. This day introduces the operating system itself, the fundamentals of developing applications that target this platform and an overview of the development environment and the tools provided by Visual Studio 2005. Also included will be an overview of the Windows Mobile 5.0 SDK and the .NET Compact Framework, as well as deployment and runtime environments using both the actual hardware and the emulator. We will also look at Building User Interfaces for Windows Mobile 5.0, Data Access on Mobile Devices, Connectivity and Services for Mobile Devices. Prior knowledge of mobile device development is not required.

Course code Dallas (Tuesday 5/30/06): 304448 Course code Houston (Thursday 6/01/06): 304446 Course code Austin (Friday 6/02/06): 304447
Space is still available. I think the groups are going to be relatively small, which will give me the opportunity to work with people directly and individualize the presentations a lot.
